Room 5 is learning about the country of Ukraine. Today we worked in small groups and brainstormed what we thought the geography, the employment, the climate, and the transportation are like in the Ukraine.
Yesterday we learned the Ukrainian words for 'grandma' and 'grandpa.' Today we discussed the traditional Ukrainian dishes 'borsch' and 'perogies.' We also learned that the distance between Calgary, Alberta and Kiev, Ukraine is 8,238 km and that it would take approx. 12 hours and 35 minutes to get there!
Tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day. Students are encouraged to wear pink!
Tomorrow we have Library. Please bring your books to school to return or renew.
