Good afternoon parents,

This afternoon we worked with our buddies outside and explored what is magnetic and non magnetic!

We will be going to Heritage Park on November 10th, and will be riding the bus with our little buddies. Field trip forms will come home in the next few days!

This week we have been learning about historical people including John Ware, James Macleod, Patrick Burns, Thomas Edworthy, Louise Riley, Sam Livingston, A.E. Cross. We are learning how they helped build Calgary, because Calgary wouldn't be the way it is if it wasn't for them. We have learned how to write biographies about these important people.

As mathematicians, we have been using our addition and subtractions skills to solve unfinished number patterns (both increasing and decreasing). We have been using the Montessori Golden Beads as well as the Stamp Game as materials to help us with our calculations.

As part of our Global Read Aloud, we have started working on creating clues for other students from all over the world to "Guess Where We are From". We will share our clues, and also learn more about different communities around the world by reading other clues!

Please note that Parent Council has graciously paid for the $20.00 cost of our Reader Rock Garden Field Trip that took place on September 19th, 2017. We thank Parent Council for their generosity in using fundraising dollars to help make these enriching experiences possible for our students.

Good bye parents!
