Good evening families,

As part of the Global Read Aloud, students have been looking closely at clues from other classes from around the world that are also reading "The Wild Robot" in order to Guess Where they are From. We are using our understanding of geography as well as the symbols, landscapes, structures, celebrations and more that make areas around our world unique. Please visit https://padlet.com/colleen_malley/wt8p0rdq26l8 to view the clues that Ms. Bouchard & Mrs. Morden's class created together about Calgary as well as other clues posted by Global Read Aloud participants!

On the afternoon of Monday, October 30th, we are getting together with our buddy class for a Buddy Spooktacular! Students will work together with their buddies to explore a variety of themed stations. I am looking for 1-2 volunteers to join us from 12:30-2:43 to help run stations. Stations will include Mystery Touch & Feel, Spooky Smells, What’s that sound? and Slippery Slime.

This afternoon we had a conversation as a class about Halloween at LBS. Our next swimming lesson is the morning of Tuesday, October 31st and all LBS students will be changing into their costumes after lunch hour.
We ask that costumes demonstrate the fun part of dressing up; costumes should be positive in nature. Costumes that promote violence are not appropriate for school. Fake blood, weapons and so on may not be sent as a part of your child’s costume. Costumes need to be easy to pull over clothes and simple to put on after lunch.
If this attention to Halloween is contrary to your family values, please contact the teacher so alternative learning activities for your child can be provided.

If you would like to provide a snack for Room 5 on Halloween we would love to have a balance of healthy snacks, preference to fruit and veggies.

Have an enjoyable evening,
Mrs. Morden
